If you’ve seen a few of my other recipes you might notice a bit of an obsession with black salt. This isn’t the first time I’ve used it and it wont be the last! Black salt (Kala Namak) give food a sulphury smell and taste that does a really good job at mimicking egg. I use it to coat my scrambled tofu for a copycat scrambled egg.If you don’t know where to get black salt, this is the brand I get from Amazon: Black Salt Powder (Kala Namak) – 200gm. If I haven’t talked you into trying it yet, I don’t know what will (I’ll just keep trying haha).
I use brown rice for this recipe because I like the taste and the extra health benefits it brings (antioxidants, fibre, better heart health). However, you can use any rice you have on hand or that you prefer. I would love to try this with black rice. If anyone has had black fried rice, let me know.
